Danny Boy Draft Works is Bloomington's newest taproom. Located at 208 S Dunn St, it's close to campus and next door to longtime Bloomington staple 420.
It has an industrial feel, complete with concrete, stainless steel and wall-to-wall flat screen TVs.
The focus is first and foremost on beer, with Danny Boy's signature brews on tap, alongside local and national microbrews. There are also popular canned and bottled beer options as well. The founders of Danny Boy have a passion for beer and want to make sure beer lovers can have fun with it.
There is a warm, public house feel baked into the design of the taproom itself, constructed in such a way as to increase conversation. Instead of a straight line, the bar bends around the room, allowing friends to sit next to each other and see each other's faces while having a beer.
The food is a prepared by local chef David Nardi. His signature take on pub grub utilizes fresh ingredients, with an emphasis on taste and presentation. Everything on the menu pairs well with beer, and is built to satisfy.
No matter what sport you love, there's a hulking flat screen devoted to it. The Draft Works is a great place to watch the Big Game, as the intimate nature of the space lends itself to a sense of belonging to a tight-knit crowd.
Danny Boy Draft Works is a family business. Manager Mary Louise Dominick is the cousin of Kevin Paul, who founded the Brockway Irish Pub in Carmel in 2008 and established the Danny Boy Beer Works brewery in Carmel.
Danny Boy is proud to be part of the growing craft beer culture in Bloomington, and hopes to become a local favorite.
